Quarterly Market Review – Q2 2022

 

Stocks and bonds worldwide broadly posted negative returns through the end of the second quarter. Inflation continued to surge due to supply chain bottlenecks amid China's Zero-Covid lockdowns and elevated food and energy prices made worse by the conflict in Ukraine. Sustained inflation has forced central bank plans to raise interest rates more (and quicker) than expected, which has caused all major asset classes to reprice downward this year.
